DJI Go app new intelligent flight features

September 2015 and DJI have just announced the launch of some really exciting new features in the DJI Go app, which is used with all DJI Phantom 3 products, as well the the Inspire 1 quadcopter.

These new features include intelligent flight functions, such as:

Follow me (for Phantom 3 only) – have your Phantom lock on to the controller to follow you wherever you go…from down hill skiing to out on your BMX, get the best of the action even when you are on your own!

DJI Phantom 3 Follow Me

Course Lock (Phantom 3 and Inspire 1) – lock the Phantom or Inspire in for a complicated shot and then let it do the hard work for you! This features really gives you that professional cinematographer look and feel!

Waypoints (Phantom 3 and Inspire 1) – have your quadcopter fly the course you set whilst you controller the camera. Get the ultimate shot by focusing on the framing, let the on board computer do the flying for you.

Homelock (DJI Phantom 3 and Inspire 1) – the feature upgrades the way in which you control the quadcopter in relation to it’s position to the controller. Making it easier for you to understand the orientation of the Phantom or Inspire as it flys away, towards or past you.

DJI Points of Interest

Point of Interest (Phantom 3 and DJI Inspire 1) – lock the quadcopter in on a point and then it will automatically fly around the object or selected point, helping you to create that perfect shot, just like the pros!

About DJI

DJI is one of the world’s leading multirotor and camera gimbal manufacturers. Their range of quadcopters are widely accepted to be some of the best and most reliable products currently available for both the consumer and professional markets.

DJI are based in Shenzhen, China, but have offices located globally and work closely with local country based retailers. FirstPersonView is the leading UK based DJI retailer and also provides a repair service for all DJI quadcopters and multirotors via DroneDoctor.co.uk. Our business has been selling DJI products from the start of their expansion outside of China and we were the first company to sell a quadcopter kit in the UK.

DJI has been developing their quadcopter flight controllers and camera gimbals – all the key components that provide for that smooth aerial video you may have seen in videos, films and on TV – and are now a market leader in intelligent flight camera drones; these use GPS to understand their positioning and offer new features via apps such as DJI GO (see here for both DJI GO app for Android and DJI GO app for iOS) for capabilities such as Follow Me and YouTube Live Streaming (some features are still to be released).
