FPV: Equipment For FPV

Goggles

FPV Video Goggles

FPV Video Goggles really are the key to your overall FPV experience. The Goggles will be your eyes in the sky and will make a big difference on how the FPV experience is perceived. There is a varied range of these products on the market but it is probably a good idea for you to invest a bit of money into a decent pair so that you get the most out of your FPV experience. The standard set up of the goggles consists of two screens – that’s one for each eye. The picture appears on the screens with adjustable resolutions ( depending on model type ) so you can change the contrast and saturation to get the desired picture effect required.

FatShark DominatorHD Video Goggles:

FatShark DominatorHD Video Goggles

The DominatorHD video goggles are a fantastic all rounder. You are able to use these goggles with a dedicated video transmitter and receiver, as well as via an HDMI cable. This feature enables you to connect to a games console, bluray/DVD player or your phone/tablet. With a 45 degree field of view and 800×600 glass optic LCD display, you really cannot go wrong.

Along side the HDMI input feature is a built in DVR recorder. This will record your flights and OSD (telemetry) information directly to a micro SD card. One downside to the DominatorHD goggles is that 20% of people experience a blur around the edges. 80% of people will not experience this and find the goggles a brilliant product.
