DJI Phantom Quadcopters

DJI is the world’s leading camera drone manufacturer, and the DJI Phantom series of quadcopters are currently the most popular drones in the world. With their Ready-to-Fly and robust build quality, they are great products for amateurs through to professional level camera drone pilots seeking to experience a high quality flight experience, professional quality photos and aerial video, and for use when flying with FPV video goggles.

DJI Phantom Quadcopters Features

The DJI Phantom quadcopters range includes the Phantom 2 V2 (for FPV flying) and now the DJI Phantom 3 Standard, Phantom 3 Advanced and DJI Phantom Professional. These quadcopters boast a range of exceptional features including -

  • Straight out the box and ready-to-fly with only minimal of assembly required in comparison to other camera drones.
  • An auto-return to home function which means that no matter where the quadcopter is, simply flick a switch and it returns to within ten meters of its take off position.
  • Phantom 2 is FPV capable, this means that the Phantom is built for connection to FPV systems that allow a pilot to install their own FPV kit for use with video goggles.
  • The DJI GO app provides users an amazing suite of new features, such as "Follow Me" filming  mode and "Director" mode for video editing, to name a few (some new features are still to be released).
  • The DJI Lightbride HD Digital Video Downlink system is already built in to the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced and Professional, for high quality real time video downlink to your smartphone or tablet.

DJI also manufacture a range of professional level products in their S-series multicopters, as well a range of accessories including gimbals.

DJI Go App - Intelligent Flight Features

All new features have landed in the DJI Go app - the Android or iOS app that you use to manage and control your DJI Phantom quadcopter or the Inspire 1 - and here we share a few of the latest features with, so you can better understand the capabilities these new Intelligent Flight Features offer all Phantom 3 and Inspire customers:

Follow me, for Phantom 3 only – follow me allows the pilots to set the radio controller unit as a lock point so the the Phantom 3 quadcopter shadows the holder of the controller as they move. This feature can be set-up with your own bespoke parameters within the app. So you can maintain a specific height or distance from the quadcopter.

Course Lock for Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 – want that smooth professional cinematographer look and feel? This feature will help you lock on the Inspire or Phantom 3 quadcopter to a set point and you just need to let the autopilot fly like a pro!

Waypoints for Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 – need the ultimate shot? Set the autopilot to fly the camera drone around a set of markers for you, and then all you have to do is frame your shot and get that Hollywood blockbuster angle with your camera and gimbal!

Homelock for DJI Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 – this new feature will allow you to set the controller as a home point so that as you move the quadcopter it will understand which direction it is facing from you and allow you to change the control functions for improved orientation.

Point of Interest Phantom 3 and DJI Inspire 1 – when you are trying to capture a specific shot of a building or landscape it can be difficult to keep a smooth orbit around the feature, but now this is all done for you! All you have to do is set the feature your want the camera to focus on and then you can let the quadcopter do the hard work for you.
